Morgan Stanley EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) Operations Director in New York, New York

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Enhanced Due Diligence Director in Operations to oversee processes related to the Enhanced Due Diligence program. The Director will support the execution of the Firm's EDD protocols for both new and existing customers. This includes providing subject matter expertise guidance, oversight of the progression of account reviews, hosting team meetings, and collaborating on training efforts and process improvement initiatives.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Specialist position at Director level within Client Service & Relationship Management, which is responsible for managing internal and external client relationships. We do this by engaging in client service activities, optimizing the client experience, and managing vendor/external business partner relationships.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Lead key projects and initiatives related to increasing efficiencies and reducing operational risks in support of the firm’s EDD program.

• Gather requirements from key stakeholders and manage to prioritization with the business and technology.

• Effectively communicate changes to the production support teams and ensure training is executed through EDD Operations

• Exhibit an ability to balance multiple, changing priorities in a dynamic and fast-moving working environment.

• Manage the implementation of internal policies, provide periodic reporting to senior stakeholders, and make recommendations to improve procedures governing AML-related activities.

• Drafting and updating procedures and desktop guidance related to the client onboarding processes.

• Provide oversight and supervisory support for EDD Operations Staff and serve as a point of contact for questions, issues, and escalations.

• Manage Internal and external examinations to test Operational support of the EDD Program

• Strong knowledge of control frameworks and the ability to design and evaluate effectiveness of controls embedded within business processes.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the compliance and regulatory frameworks that apply to financial institutions.

• Reviewing and responding to monthly quality control findings related to the source of wealth review process.

What you’ll bring to the role:

· Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and put forward challenging views to senior levels

· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team

· Ability to operate independently across the majority of day-to-day responsibilities

· Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model

· Expertise in managing programs focused on ensuring quality within AML programs.

· Experience with data and trend analysis related to the management of an AML program.

· Certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license is an advantage.

· Have 5 years of relevant experience with BSA/AML Regulations within the financial services industry, or at a financial services regulator (e.g., FINRA, Securities and Exchange Commission, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve Bank, etc.)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 68,000 and 125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
