Danaher Corporation Director, Growth Initiatives & Innovation -- Core Lab Specialty Segment (CLSS) (REMOTE - USA) in New York, New York

The Director, Core Lab Specialty Segment (CLSS) Growth Initiatives & Innovation for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the development of the business unit’s strategy through driving both organic and inorganic growth opportunities. They will work with the CLSS leadership team to define & quantify the near and long-term business unit priorities which drive the greatest return for the business over a 10-year outlook. They will lead the analysis for organic and inorganic activities, assessing key decisions, proposals, opportunities, and investments by effectively framing key questions and analyzing business markets, trends, competition, portfolios, technologies, and revenues to help the Core Lab Specialty Care leadership team answer them.

This senior leader will partner with Danaher, Platform, OpCo & BU functions to research markets and technology assets to drive above market growth. This is a highly visible role which will interact and influence at the executive levels of the operating company and the diagnostics platform. In addition, the position will play a vital role in developing commercial, growth, and innovation strategies globally, in close collaboration with functional heads.

This position is part of the Core Lab Specialty Segments business unit located in Miami, FL and will be onsite, but we will consider remote candidates. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Core Lab Specialty Products leadership team and report to the SVP/GM, Core Lab Specialty Products.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the development of the Core Lab Specialty Segment annual strategic plan, defining both “where to play” and “how to win” over the near- and long-term time horizons.

  • Lead market research efforts alongside product management colleagues for biomarker development in cellular diagnostic imaging, culminating in the development of management recommendations, considering contributions to core growth, cost of development & timing of available R& spend.

  • Conduct market assessment, complex analyses, and early technology assessment to support the due diligence efforts of strategic assets being considered for acquisition by the business units.

  • Partner with business and opco senior leadership to identify open innovation opportunities that are additive to the technology roadmap and help to drive above market growth and margin expansion.

  • Partner with Danaher Business Development & Beckman Coulter Strategy team to identify/assess M&A opportunities and manage Business Unit efforts for approval and due diligence.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (MBA preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience in top tier consulting and/or strategic marketing roles within the healthcare and life sciences industry

  • Digesting and synthesizing complex market insights and development opportunities into cohesive strategies for management to help drive business results.

  • Digesting and synthesizing complex insights and building internal and external credibility

  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and critical thinking skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Leading and/or collaborating with global teams to drive business results.

  • Leading with influence across multiple levels/functions, developing strong internal networks, and working within a matrix structure

The salary range for this role is $230,000 to 290,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
