The salary range for this role, based in New York is $161,400.00 to $201,700.00, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary

NADESS (North American Data Excellence Shared Services) partners with teams across Pernod Ricard USA (PRUSA) to manage and validate foundational data systems and needs. The team will focus on five primary pillars of data: acquisition, governance, training/communication & quality. The team will take these priorities to effectively provide data expertise and structure across PRUSA, ultimately driving sustained progression to all local/global initiatives.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Data Automation & Governance, and will interact directly with Finance, Commercial Strategy, Data Automation, Customer Service and IT across PRUSA. This role is responsible for the design of the data foundation and subsequent governance across all of the PRUSA systems, thus enabling PRUSA to successfully digitalize and operate its digital platforms. It is critical for the individual in this role to embrace cross-functional ways of working. In particular, this role leads data governance, data vendor contract management, and the administration of pricing information across PR USA systems.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Governance and design
    • Together with management, define data governance and data strategy, thereafter, manage its implementation per any agreed roadmap
    • Develop and implement data governance structures in line with the strategy
    • Develop compelling business solutions in collaboration with Tech and other departments to better use existing data or incorporate future data partners
  • Data Quality Assurance (QA)
    • Drive and champion continuous improvement of data quality processes
    • Lead Data Quality Confidence Dashboard development
    • Expand QA coverage area to include new / incoming data sources
    • Lead communication to drive QA awareness within PRUSA data steward community
  • Data Vendor Relationship Management
    • Assess the business cases for new data sources - cost benefit analysis and complexity of integration
    • Oversee the discussion and decision across the business on further data investments
    • Oversee data vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreement compliance
    • Challenge norms and guide PRUSA to maximize data vendor relationship value
    • Lead joint business planning with key data vendors
  • Master Data Management
    • Assess and streamline data permissions & security processes
    • Direct data governance user acceptance testing in support of QA to PROD deployment
    • Drive global data hierarchy standardization
    • Analyze, visualize, and optimize data streams and related processes
    • Build and own the data governance issue backlog; manage improvements for business needs
    • Lead effective collaboration with global Key Digital Program initiatives
  • Pricing
    • Drive strategic project rollout, partnering with RGM, Finance, Customer Service and Tech
    • Manage and improve ways of working for new item creation and price data administration across PRUSA systems
    • Oversee pricing master data maintenance, exception reporting and KPI development / tracking
  • Leadership
    • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team to maximize employee engagement and performance
    • Champion continuous improvement for data quality, integrity, and integration
    • Drive NADESS organization to be a catalyst for global Key Digital Program initiatives
    • Present data governance status summary to executive team

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required. MBA / Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of business data experience (including leveraging and extracting data to support the business), preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods company.
    • Must have experience in overseeing data management quality and entry processes.
    • Must demonstrate strong management experience.
    • Experience in compliance of PII (Personable Identifiable Information) data desired.
    • Experience in working with data structures on an enterprise level, ideally supported by general knowledge of technical foundations of data management and data science.
  • Skills:
    • Good communication and presentation skills for stakeholder management and process analytics.
    • Ability to guide and coach business teams using new technologies.
    • Business Case development, analysis and assessment.
    • Self-starter with self-sufficient working capability.
    • Must be able to balance quality and speed.
    • Ability to deliver executive level communication and influence.
    • Strong problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and develop solutions.
    • High-performing, self-starter eager to disrupt traditional practices to improve data integrity and effectiveness.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills a must.
