In Fall 2023, Baruch College launched a major strategic planning effort. The resulting plan will help ensure that Baruch not only continues our legacy but capitalizes on the innovations of a rapidly evolving world—to scale what we do and expand our impact, while achieving an even higher level of quality and excellence.
The College is engaging in a major $100+ million fundraising campaign and this position will play a key role in elevating the annual giving efforts.
We seek a dynamic, self-starting individual to join the growing College Advancement team. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of College Advancement, this is a critical position in the development of our pipeline of donors. The Assistant Director coordinates projects within the annual giving program including direct marketing, digital and web-based marketing, and telemarketing, all to raise funds for the College’s strategic priorities.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the implementation and review of a strong data-driven solicitation system including evaluating results, tracking mail and email appeals, data mining; assess marketing segmentation to improve results and monitor metrics of giving participation, average gift size, donor retention, acquisition, and upgrades, and return on investments; assist with the development and interpretation of annual giving reports.
Increase annual fund revenue to meet targets set by department
Develop and implement an annual campus philanthropy program, identifying, securing and engaging student and employee volunteers, baseline and measure outcomes.
Develop, engage and solicit a portfolio of 150+ annual fund donors, maintaining personal contact via phone, in person meetings or via electronic meetings, noting all information gleaned from interactions into customer relationship management (CRM) database.
Identify opportunities to upgrade donors for special, leadership, matching and planned gifts, working with Gift Officer colleagues within the College Advancement team.
Manage crowdfunding efforts, working with internal and external partners to create dynamic messaging to connect with students, alumni and friends of the College; collaborate on strategies for CUNYTuesday and other giving day appeals
Assist with implementation and evaluation of annual fund social media strategies.
Will work evening events as required.
Assist with special projects, alumni events follow-up, and donor events and perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years’ work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Two plus years in annual fund non-profit setting.
Interest and ability to work with a diverse population.
Strong analytical skills and technology proficiency.
Proficiency in Excel, Word365 and PowerPoint.
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Must have superb judgment and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Keen sensitivity to human relations and ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
