Faculty Physician

SUMMARY:

Faculty:Responsible for supervising, precepting, and advising with residents; Responsible for supervising and managing curriculum; Responsible for scholarly activity and participating in research activity; Responsible for hospital based (inpatient or obstetrics) service and trainingClinical:Responsible for the care of patients at all clinical sites and programs as assigned by their supervisor. Responsible for ensuring the care of their patients meets the organization’s productivity goals, quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, training needs, and research initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintains a minimum of 24 hours of faculty time exclusive of patient care

  • Precepts in the ambulatory training site as assigned

  • Supervises hospital-based rotations (inpatient or obstetrics) as assigned*

  • Supervises specific rotations as assigned

  • Supervises elements of the program curriculum as assigned

  • Supervises resident advisees as assigned

  • Supervises medical student rotators as assigned

  • Produces scholarly activity and participates in research efforts in collaboration with residents, faculty, and other Institute staff

  • Supervision in areas that require specific skills such Obstetrics or Sports Medicine may be assigned as appropriate

    Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school and an accredited residency program in Family Medicine

  • NY State Medical License

  • Board Certified in a relevant specialty board

  • in Family Medicine by ABFM and /or ACOFP

  • Current BCLS Certificate

  • Current DEA Certificate

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and management skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and electronic health records ( Epic knowledge a plus)

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
