SLSCO LTD Compliance Manager in New York, New York
SLSCO, LP is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to oversee the compliance aspects of a large construction project in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing WMBE initiatives, fostering community engagement, and ensuring effective contract management within the construction industry. This role is crucial for maintaining project integrity, complying with regulatory requirements, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contract Management: Ensure contract terms are being met by all parties and mediate any disputes as necessary. Develop systems to ensure proper onboarding of all parties once contracts are awarded and compliance with contract terms throughout the life of the contract.
* WMBE Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor programs to ensure compliance with WMBE participation goals, policies, and regulations. Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to promote inclusive practices in procurement and labor forces.
* Community Engagement: Facilitate community outreach initiatives, per contract specifications to foster positive relationships with local organizations and residents. Organize informational sessions to ensure transparency and address concerns.
* Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and project executives, detailing WMBE participation, community engagement efforts, and any compliance issues.
* Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for project staff and stakeholders on compliance policies, WMBE requirements, and community relations best practices.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance management within the construction industry, specifically focusing on WMBE, community engagement, and contract management.
* Strong understanding of WMBE programs, local labor laws, and community impact strategies.
* Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and training.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
* Proficient in compliance monitoring tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Ability to perform work duties in various environments, including office settings and construction sites.
* Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying may be required.
