Job Description
Exciting Opportunity at MSK:Cloud DevOps Lead
We are looking for an experiencedCloud DevOps Leadwith a problem-solving mindset to design and lead the implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable DevOps solutions for our cloud adoption program. In this role, you will collaborate with our platform engineering and hybrid cloud teams to align on our organizational goals and cloud infrastructure best practices, as you work on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and monitoring solutions to support highly available and scalable applications. You will lead a team of engineers and work closely with application team stakeholders to streamline deployment processes and ensure seamless transitions to the cloud. This role requires both a deep understanding of cloud platforms and the ability to lead DevOps design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the DevOps design and build and deploy phases of the cloud adoption lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the organization’s cloud strategy, architecture standards, and governance requirements.
Provide guidance on cloud-native and hybrid cloud reusable DevOps solutions, ensuring systems are highly available, resilient, and meet industry standards.
Design, implement, and continuously improve deployment pipelines and automation processes to streamline and accelerate cloud adoption, focusing on reliability, scalability, automation, and high availability.
Collaborate with enterprise architecture, platform engineering, hybrid cloud, security, data & analytics, networking, and application development teams to align cloud deployments with business objectives and operational needs.
Lead the implementation of IaC practices using tools such as Terraform or Ansible to standardize and automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, ensuring repeatable, secure deployments across all environments.
Act as a liaison between the cloud adoption team and technical stakeholders, providing regular updates on DevOps progress, risks, and timelines.
Mentor and develop a team of engineers, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality DevOps solutions, including ongoing reviews of solutions.
Ensure all DevOps solutions adhere to security policies, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with quality engineering and application teams on quality and performance testing activities, ensuring applications are hardened and secure.
Collaborate to design and implement strategies to optimize cloud costs without compromising scalability and performance.
Design and implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to enhance system reliability, focusing on auto-scaling, CPU, and memory utilization, as well as support rapid issue resolution.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for DevOps solutions and provide guidance and training to engineers and knowledge transfer to other team members.
Plan, coordinate and provide estimates for team’s work.
Key Qualifications
8+ years of DevOps experience, including 3-5 years in cloud technologies and 2-3 years in leadership
Experience in a regulated industry; healthcare compliance knowledge (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus
Cloud platform expertise; AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar certifications preferred
Strong leadership and team mentorship experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to influence cross-functional leaders and drive decisions
Customer-focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Core Skills
DevOps tools & practices: CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Workflows), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
Security best practices in cloud: identity & secrets management, data protection (e.g., HashiCorp, AWS Secrets)
Observability & monitoring: CloudWatch, DataDog
Troubleshooting complex DevOps issues with a focus on rapid resolution
Agile methodologies and collaborative teamwork
Additional Information:
Location: Hybrid, primarily remote with flexibility to come on site as needed
Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday with Friday
Reporting to: Director, Software Engineering
Pay Range: $130,700.00-$215,800.00
