City of New York Clerical Associate - Administrative Law & Regulatory Litigation in New York, New York

Job Description

Clerical Associates in the Administrative Law and Regulatory Litigation Division serve the Division by providing daily support to the Division as a whole, as well as support to individual attorneys and case teams on an as-needed basis. Clerical Associates are regularly responsible for fax and mail distribution, ordering and stocking supplies, keeping copier and printer areas neat and stocked, opening new cases in law manager, creating redwelds and folders for new cases, scanning case commencement documents to Filesite, maintaining the Division’s file room, closing cases, and processing checks. Clerical Associates also may provide support to the Division by tracking and monitoring cases related to specific legal challenges, such as challenges to the City’s new initiative, Operation Padlock Protect. In addition, Clerical Associates are responsible for processing relocation lien cases and requesting title searches, and completing filings via Lexitas for vital records cases. Clerical Associates may be assigned to an attorney or a case team to assist on specific projects as-needed, such as trial preparation or discovery projects.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.

Skills Requirement

Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
