Whether you are looking to hone your craft or pick up new skills and specialties, The Falcon Group is a team to support your professional and personal growth.The Role Job Summary Immediate Opening for an energetic CAD Technician/Drafter in a fast-paced engineering/architectural firm located in New York, New York. The CAD Technician/Drafter is responsible for creating preliminary design sketches and engineering drawings for conceptual analysis and production. Responsibilities and Duties:Essential Functions for CAD Technician/DrafterCreate preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysisCreate engineering drawings and designs for productionCreate design specifications, documentation, and material listsEstimate material and production costs for designsPrepare complete documentation packages for engineersVerify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulationsPerforms drafting to accepted Company and national standards, e.g., symbols, nomenclatures, engineering terms.Understands and transfers information from red lines / mark-ups to AutoCAD to produce accurate details/drawings.Converts limited verbal and written directions from Architect/Engineer or Project Managers into a finished product.Works with Architect/Engineers or Project Managers to understand scope of work, schedule, budget and project instructions and responsibilities.Maintains records, files, drawing, or other data essential to the completion of drawings as Assists with training CAD technicians and interns. Provides support to the project team in all aspects of production. Completes projects efficiently and in a timely and complete manner.Conducts on-site inspections for field measurements. The nature of the role may necessitate changes in duties, responsibilities, and activities, which can occur at any time, with or without prior notice.QualificationsEducationAt least High School Diploma with Autodesk Certified Professional CertificationWork Experience1-year of experience drafting general architectural and structural drawings or equivalent combination of education and experience.Licenses and CertificationsAutodesk Certified Professional or related certificationsValid United States Driver’s License required, as this position may require travel to the post office and/or FedEx.SkillsProficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent spelling, grammar and proof-reading skills.Presents in a professional manner at all times.Self-starter with strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills.Ability to prioritize.Good time management skills and proactive approach.Strong attention to detail while maintaining consistent work- flow and meeting deadlines.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Excellent customer service skills to represent the organization with clients, affiliates, and outside agencies and to efficiently obtain needed information.Ability to work overtime if needed.Estimated salary range for this position is $ 65,000 to $75,000. The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed.
