Robert Half Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer in New York, New York

Description We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our team in the non-profit sector based in New York, New York. The BI Engineer will be responsible for leveraging cloud-based Business Intelligence tools and managing complex data analyses. This role will also involve managing work activities and projects, and drawing insights through data analysis to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize cloud-based Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Azure data stack to drive data-driven decisions.

• Perform significant data transformations using Power Query/M-language within Power BI.

• Write complex calculated measures and columns using DAX to enhance data analysis.

• Implement dynamic Row Level Security in the data model to ensure data privacy and security.

• Gather Business Intelligence requirements, design solutions, and manage application operations and maintenance activities.

• Analyze complex datasets using SQL to derive insights and inform business decisions.

• Plan, organize, and manage work activities or projects, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.

• Informally manage deliverables of others, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

• Use Dax Technologies, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SQL Server to enhance data visualization and reporting capabilities.

• Draw insights through robust data analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Requirements • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• Proficient in Dax Technologies

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI required

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL techniques

• Familiarity with data modeling and data visualization

• Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus

• Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
