JPMorgan Chase Asset Management - LDI (Liability Driven Investing) Fixed Income Investment Specialist, Executive Director in New York, New York

The Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management is one of the world's deepest and best-resourced fixed income managers, with expertise across all major fixed income sectors, including niche markets. Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities manages a broad range of strategies, through funds and/or separate accounts, including broad market, long duration, stable value, intermediate high yield, emerging market debt, short and ultra-short duration, global bonds, structured products, mortgages and tax-aware strategies.

The LDI (Liability Driven Investing) Fixed Income Investment Specialist (IS) role sits within the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) . This is a client facing IS role and the successful candidate will work primarily with pension clients and represent long duration and LDI strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients and prospects to develop and deliver LDI solutions to meet their objectives.

  • Respond to ad hoc questions and analysis requests on LDI solutions.

  • Represent investment teams and strategies to internal partners, prospects and existing clients.

  • Responsible for positioning/messaging product with the goal of driving new business and providing superior client service.

  • Strong capital markets acumen with an ability to communicate effectively on a wide range of relevant topics including the macroeconomic environment, industry trends, and current events

  • Strong partnership with portfolio managers and other investors.

  • Ability to work independently, but sit within a team that shares a common goal.

  • Work with product strategy, product development and other internal groups to oversee existing products and new product initiatives.

  • Ability to take initiative and lead projects, which requires a strong partnership with the team, strong people management skills and a strategic mindset.

  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end process for client on-boarding including negotiating Investment Management Agreements, Fee Schedules, Client Reporting and Investment Guidelines.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 8+ years of experience and significant capital markets experience and a strong understanding of the financial service industry are required.

  • Deep experience with and knowledge of LDI strategies and solutions

  • Strong understanding of pension liabilities and approaches to managing pension ALM risk

  • Prior experience developing and delivering custom liability hedging solutions - additional experience with cashflow matching and/or derivative overlays preferred

  • Prior experience in project management and driving strategic initiatives

  • Strong understanding of fixed income products and services and strong ability to assess risk and comfortable with risk taking

  • Strong written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong understanding of investment performance, performance composites and attribution and understanding of advisory/model delivery relationships
