Position Summary
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Alumni Communications Associate will execute various marketing and communication projects, contributing insights and ideas on streamlining project management and department processes related to marketing and communication. Develop content through ideation and writing, and/or design and the management of the digital marketing workflow in accordance with UDAR's overall marketing and communications strategy as a member of the Communications Team. Projects may include digital and social media components for Alumni Relations, regional programs, affinity groups, Trustee and ULT messaging, and communication projects involving Colleges and Institutes within NYU. Activities will be in direct correlation with the digital, social, and interactive platforms supported by the University or as directed through additional requirements and will have the goal of increasing alumni engagement and interaction with the University. Provide service and support to development and alumni relations efforts as related to technologies and processes for digital marketing. Stay up-to-date on current and best practices and trends and maintain technical skills.

Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:2+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience including experience with editorial and copywriting, graphic design, development, creation, and project management of digital and print communications and marketing materialsPreferred Experience:Experience with social media platforms and experience in an academic environmentRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent planning, problem solving, and communication skills
Proficient with HTML, CSS, and competent with the Adobe Creative Suite including: Photoshop, Illustrator InDesign, and Dreamweaver
Skilled with Microsoft Excel and Word
Competent with Mac, iOS, and PC operating systems
Knowledge of current and emerging Web technologies, social media platforms, and communications best practicesPreferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager
Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
