Job Description
THE SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS 135K
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Administrative Supervisor of Building Maintenance to oversee the operations of our Pneumatic Trash System within the Waste Management Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, project management, and facility operations, with a proven track record of leadership in similar roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the maintenance and operation of the pneumatic trash system.
Interpret blueprints and provide clear directions to workers and management.
Coordinate job sites with General Contractors and Architects to ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards.
Establish and enforce daily operating and safety procedures in accordance with applicable laws and standards.
Monitor and ensure the proper installation and maintenance of all related equipment and infrastructure.
Develop and maintain databases to streamline access to blueprints and track repair status.
Coordinate field meetings with contractors and various department units to plan renovations and upgrades.
Manage financial aspects related to maintenance projects, including budgeting and contract renewals.

Qualifications
Eight years of full-time experience in construction, repair, alteration and/or rehabilitation of multiple dwellings, commercial, industrial or public buildings in the capacity of general contractor, superintendent of construction, procurement specialist, evaluator responsible for cost estimation, or as a field supervisor or as an inspector, at least 18 months of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity involving responsibility for a large number of buildings; or
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above. Education in an accredited college leading toward a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, engineering technology or a closely related field will be accepted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years. However, all candidates must possess at least 18 months of the specialized supervisory or administrative experience described in "1" above.
