The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Within the Division, the incumbent will support all three divisional missions: clinical care, research, and education. With regard to clinical care, the incumbent will work closely with the clinical support team and manager/supervisor to optimize coordination of clinical schedules with academic schedules. In addition, the incumbent will track provider licensure (multiple states) and board certification(s), facilitate new and renewal licensure and any similar applications (i.e., DEA, ABPN, UCNS) to avoid lapse. With regard to education, the incumbent will work closely with the departmental educational team and clinical support team to optimize coordination of trainee rotations (including students, residents, and fellows) with the division and academic schedules and support the Neuro-oncology Fellowship Director. With regard to the research mission, the incumbent will collaboratively supervise the scheduling of research activities, including those from the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, to optimize coordination of research and academic responsibilities for the faculty. Furthermore, the incumbent will coordinate the academic schedule of the Division Chief who also has leadership roles in the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, the office of the Dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and liaises with the Office of the Columbia University Executive Vice President for Research.

Responsibilities

  • Create itineraries for the divisional members, schedule appointments and conference calls, update contact lists and calendar.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings and travel arrangements.
  • Provide resident and fellowship program support, including interview scheduling and new resident/fellow orientation.
  • Communicating across departments and divisions to carry out the functions of the division
  • Maintenance of all academic calendars for all faculty in the division is a must
  • Assist the divisional members with conference planning and fundraising endeavors, including preparation of itineraries and agendas for events.
  • Proof-reading and editing communication correspondence as well as manuscripts for scientific publication, letters, progress reports, grant reviews and book chapters
  • Track/order office supplies and deliver mail

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or education, training and experience, plus four years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in any field is preferred.
  • Minimum five years in an academic medical center setting directly involved in the administration of special projects or related areas.
  • Prior experiences demonstrating the ability to independently set priorities, meet deadlines, plan and execute projects.
  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented and motivated.
  • Must be a proficient user of the MS office Suite.
