Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in New York, New York

Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in New York. This role provides an opportunity for a short term contract employment. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing our financial obligations and ensuring the accuracy of our accounting records.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the processing of all invoices received for payment in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

• Manage the daily functions of the accounts payable department including bill payment, ledgers, and reporting systems.

• Maintain historical records by accurately filing documents.

• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive financial tracking system to ensure that all payments are made in a timely manner.

• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.

• Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company.

• Ensure that all transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.

• Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents.

• Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.

• Perform other duties as required to support the financial department. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of two years of experience in Accounts Payable or similar role

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Strong understanding and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
