Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in New York, New York

Description We are on the hunt for a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in New York, New York. This role is situated within the finance industry and entails the accurate entry of financial data, management of accounts payable, and provision of administrative support among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate input of financial transactions, invoices, and other relevant data into accounting software and spreadsheets

• Management of accounts payable including product verification, invoice approvals, and maintaining AP aging for vendors

• Assisting with month-end inventory tasks

• Reconciliation of bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and identify any discrepancies

• Providing general administrative support including maintaining and updating records, files, and databases, and preparing necessary documents, reports, and presentations

• Organizing and maintaining company documents, records, and databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity

• Maintaining effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders

• Collaborating and communicating effectively with colleagues and team members, assisting other departments with administrative tasks as required to foster a positive and cooperative work environment

• Managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness in handling various administrative demands. Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.

• Proficient in using Accounts Payable (AP) software.

• Demonstrated experience with account reconciliation and check runs.

• Ability to code invoices accurately and efficiently.

• Proficiency in data entry and invoice processing.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and data analysis.

• Experience with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for managing accounts and financial transactions.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing various accounts and transactions.

• Strong communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly.
