Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in New York, New York
Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Payable Clerk in New York. This role is integral to our financial operations, focusing on processing invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and managing accounts payable. The chosen candidate will be expected to handle a high volume of data and inquiries with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Accurate and timely processing of invoices, ensuring correct coding.
• Management of utility accounts for new locations, including setting up via phone calls.
• Regular interaction with vendors and suppliers to ensure punctual payments.
• Overseeing a high-traffic accounts payable email inbox and assisting vendors with their inquiries.
• Overseeing the T& E platform and its related processes, including the review of transaction coding, assisting with employee T& E inquiries, and following up on missing receipts.
• Management of the credit line for the T& E platform.
• Completion of vendor credit applications as needed.
• Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable.
• Maintenance of vendor information, including onboarding new vendors, verifying W9, banking instructions, and contact information, and confirming changes to existing records verbally.
• Reconciliation of monthly statements and related transactions for vendor accounts.
• Preparation of weekly and monthly accounts payable reports.
• Annual preparation of 1099 reporting.
• Participation in special projects, optimization initiatives, ERP enhancements, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar position
• Proven expertise in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated experience with Check Runs and Coding Invoices
• Proficiency in Data Entry and Invoice Processing
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential
• Experience with Dynamics GP, Dynamics NAV, Dynamics Ax, Dynamics, and NetSuite is highly desirable
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
