Account Specialist/Technical Assistant - Aviation

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our US Retail business group within Aon Risk Solutions Aviation team working in a hybrid-remote role with the flexibility to work in our New York, NY office location as well as virtually a few days a week. As an Account Specialist/Technical Assistant, you will report directly to a senior team member.

What the day will look like

  • Provide brokers with support of document preparation and creation of certificates of insurance, renewal strategy presentations, underwriting presentations, renewal proposals and RFP’s.

  • Preparation and processing of invoices in a timely manner for any billing needs, including renewals, audits, and endorsements.

  • Provide brokers with assistance in the collection of binders, policies, and endorsements.

  • Keeping track of and maintaining our renewal list (400+ accounts)

  • Provide brokers with day to day support with the utilization of Aon systems including but not limited to: Bridge, GRIP, Policy Intake and possibly Salesforce

  • Organize correspondence and other records on shared drive.

  • Provide brokers with support of data management.

  • Update and maintain an electronic aviation library of presentation templates.

  • Provide brokers with support of special projects.

  • Prepare special or one-time reports, create and maintain any necessary updates to spreadsheets to support reporting analysis.

  • Act as a key resource for the team, i.e. independently seek out answers to questions, take initiative, leverage network of resources to solve problems. Be strategic, solve problems and establish procedures that demonstrate process improvements.

  • Prepare, update and manage spreadsheets and statistical reports

  • General support of team as required

  • Administrative tasks and support of broking team as required

    How this opportunity is different

    This role provides technical and administrative support to a team of brokers/associates within the aviation practice. The day to day support of brokers ranges from clerical, technical and logistical matters to document production and the effective use of office applications as well as special projects. The Account Specialist will respond promptly, thoughtfully, and effectively to changing work environments, changing priorities and new situations. Additionally, the Account Specialist will possess the skills and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with internal resources and external resources. The role is integral to the efficient workflow within the office environment.

    It is imperative that the individual is a team player and demonstrates flexibility and willingness to complete tasks as required. Your ability to work as an effective team member and maintain a flexible approach and positive attitude is a key element to successfully working in a group setting.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

    Required Experience:

  • Experience in the insurance industry

  • Experience within the aviation industry

  • Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent customer service skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written

  • Highly organized, with strong multi-tasking skills, strong attention to detail.

    Preferred Experience:

  • Solid technical abilities

  • Demonstrates flexibility to learn other IT systems as needed in support of team

    Education :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $70,000 - $100,000 annually. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York, NY. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
