POSITION DETAILS

The CUNY School of Medicine (CSOM) at The City College of New York (CCNY), is the onlymedical school in the City University of New York system. Our innovative curriculum allowsstudents to complete both their undergraduate Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Doctor of Medicine(M.D.) degrees in seven years. The CUNY School of Medicine graduated its first class in 2020. This role reports to the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education. The Academic ProgramCoordinator provides administrative support to the Practice of Medicine (POM) LongitudinalClinicalExperience (LCE) program. These duties include coordinating student placement at LCE sites, assisting in recruitment efforts to identify new LCE sites, and LCE-related coursesupport.

ThispositionalsoassiststheDepartmentofMedicalEducation’s sub-committees as assigned which can include scheduling monthly meetings and taking minutes. Administrative support may be provided to the medicaleducation deans and faculty associated with the sub committees.

InadditiontotheCUNYTitleoverview,thedutiesinclude:

POM/LCE responsibilities:

· Assists with new LCE site recruitment efforts and maintaining relationships with site managers

· Communicate with faculty at sites regarding course requirements, assessments and accreditation standards.

· Communicates with clinical sites and students regarding placement, assignment records and attendance

POM/LCE student/curriculum related responsibilities:

· Communicate with students regarding LCE requirements, assessments and student performance data.

· Communicate with student affairs regarding student compliance responsibilities

· Maintaining student performance data for department reports.

Remediation Programs:

· Serve as administrative support for all Medical Education remediation programs, maintaining LMS, student performance data and reports.

General Department of Medical Education administrative duties:

· Supports POM/LCE faculty with administrative tasks associated with the LCE course sequence

· Provides administrative support for the Sub-Committees of the Curriculum committee including take meeting minutes, schedule meetings and send communications to committee members

· Create/edit relevant documents and presentations for managers and assigned faculty; communicates relevant information, upon request, with faculty and students

· Manages travel reimbursement and reconciliation efforts for POM/LCE faculty

· Additional misc. administrative duties, as assigned by managers, when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifcations

  • Twoyears’ experience in medical education (preferably in a clinical setting) highly desired

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with faculty, staff, and students

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with all levels of faculty and staff, both within and beyond CSOM

  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and accurately complete tasks independently

  • Experience with Excel spreadsheet programming and Google documents

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program.

  • Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration

  • Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities

  • Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students

  • Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards

  • Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures

  • May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
