IQVIA Director, Information Governance & Data Privacy, Digital Enablement in New York City, New York

Job Summary

You will lead the development and implementation of a programmatic approach to information governance activities in Digital Enablement, US Regional Business Unit. “Information governance” refers to the management of compliance requirements associated with the responsible use of information received, stored, used or shared by IQVIA. Those requirements are sourced from various disciplines and activities, including data privacy, information security, contracts, intellectual property, company policies and procedures, AI compliance requirements, commercial requirements, etc. The Director of Information Governance & Data Privacy will play a pivotal role in ensuring our Digital Enablement business adheres to the highest standards of data privacy and governance. This position will oversee the implementation and management of data privacy policies, compliance initiatives, and information governance strategies across all our digital media products and operations, including personalization science, digital multi-channel engagement (HCP and DTC campaigns that include programmatic advertising (endemic and non-endemic), social media, email marketing, and connected TV), and digital media measurement.

Essential Functions

• Develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive information governance and data privacy policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with commercial strategy, product development, engineering, and marketing teams to integrate data privacy principles into the design and deployment of new technologies and campaigns.

• Evaluate and support the implement privacy-enhancing technologies to safeguard consumer and HCP data.

• Provide expertise in ad-tech and digital media measurement, ensuring all practices adhere to data privacy standards.

• Conduct regular privacy impact assessments and audits (coordination of internal and external) to identify and mitigate potential risks.

• Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data privacy and information governance best practices.

• Lead, inform, and support the professional delivery of approved communications (through a variety of company channels) to make aware and educate the Digital Enablement (and potentially other teams in the US Regional Business Unit) team on information governance and data privacy.

• Partner with Digital Enablement Marketing & Thought Leadership to lead, inform, and support (as required) the professional delivery to external customers, prospects, and partners to educate on information governance and data privacy.

• Act as the primary point of contact for data privacy inquiries and manage data breach response protocols.

• Stay informed about the latest developments in data privacy laws and technologies, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of industry standards.

• You will partner with digital team members on a cross-functional basis in areas such as development, offerings management, data management, supplier services, production, delivery, client services, CIO / IT and other functions to:

o help employees understand their information governance responsibilities,

o provide guidance on information governance requirements,

o promote adoption of SOPs, work instructions, training, guidance, communications, KPIs and annual objectives to support good information governance practices and programmatic solutions,

o share knowledge, tools, training and methods developed anywhere at IQVIA to promote efficiencies, find solutions faster, support continuous improvement and facilitate the adoption of better practices,

o encourage innovation in the methods the business adopts to comply with information governance requirements that is practical, forward looking (i.e, anticipates likely changes in future information governance requirements) and meets compliance requirements,

o promote the use of risk assessments for projects and initiatives

o ensure practices are adequately documented and documentation is accessible to meet legal, contractual and commercial requirements to demonstrate compliance,

o participate in corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) for information governance incidents, as needed, and

o establish metrics and assessments to identify and resolve gaps and to measure and report updates regarding status of the information governance program.

• You will partner with subject matter experts, product managers and owners in areas such as data privacy, information security, intellectual property, legal and others to obtain and understand information governance requirements.

• You will collaborate with employees in similar information governance roles across the IQVIA business to share ideas and identify common needs.

• You will support the IQVIA Enterprise Information Governance & Privacy Board, including:

o Identifying opportunities for centralized development of policies, guidelines, tools and training for use across business units and geographies to address common information governance requirements,

o Provide common metrics to the Board to identify what’s working well and opportunities for improvement, and

o Help set the Board’s strategic priorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree and relevant certifications can be helpful, but not required.

• Deep understanding of healthcare ad-tech, HCP and DTC digital marketing, and digital media measurement.

• Proven experience working with product development and engineering teams to integrate data privacy into technology solutions.

• Strong knowledge of cookies, device IDs, IP addresses, and the future of cookieless technologies.

• Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies and their applications in digital media.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing data privacy challenges.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

• Strong technical aptitude with experience developing programmatic solutions for business.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence and guide teams to deliver outcomes.

• Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Understand the role of the various functions in the IQVIA business unit for which you are responsible and how data comes into the organization, how data is used and stored in the organization and how data leaves the organization.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interest to learn information governance disciplines required. Prior experience with data privacy, information governance, information security or related field preferred.

• Proficiency in information governance principles, data classification, and related practices.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $138,500.00 - $257,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
