This individual will serve a key function in providing environmental remediation field oversight and coordination at brownfield redevelopment projects. They will also be responsible for in-situ and ex-situ soil and groundwater remediation projects, subslab depressurization system installations, asbestos and lead based paint inspections, and asbestos and lead based paint abatements.Job Responsibilities:-Conduct Brownfield Remediation Oversight Services on complex remediation projects including overseeing contractor remediation work, documenting remediation work, post remediation sampling, and inspections;-Solve problems on complicated sites and train staff to handle owner/contractor/engineer relationships;-Communicate with contractor and clients;-Train junior staff for brownfield remediation oversight;-Perform field observation and testing as it relates to brownfield remediation projects;-Conduct perimeter air monitoring;-Perform remediation system operation, maintenance and monitoring services;-Lead groundwater, soil, and soil gas sampling events;-Conduct asbestos and lead-based paint inspections;-Monitor services such as asbestos abatement contractors performing work, documenting abatement work, conducting post abatement visual inspections and clearance/re-occupancy air or other applicable sampling;-Perform UST Closure field activities;-Prepare daily field reports and ensure data sheets are accurate and up-to-date;-Maintain field equipment;-Troubleshoot as necessary; and-Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications:-Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or environmental or physical science related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered;-Minimum of 10 years of related remediation field technician experience;-Construction, remediation or technology related experience preferred (i.e., remedial construction oversight, perimeter air monitoring, in-situ chemical oxidation injections, groundwater sampling, support of excavation oversight subgrade, earthwork, and asbestos investigations);-Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing;-Available to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends;-Able to spend 100% of their working time in the field;-Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; and-Willingness to travel via land and/or air is required. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible for straight-time overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
