Summary: Primary function is tactical development, support and managerial oversight of information security unit responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and maintenance of information security systems designed to defend and prevent unauthorized access (internal and external) to data networks and software/data applications by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluates data systems and security arrangements to assess the likelihood of unauthorized use. Oversees the implementation of changes in procedures, systems, etc., designed to enhance the security of the data systems. Responds to reported security violations by determining causes, possible solutions, and remedial actions required, and assisting in evaluating the effect on company programs of violations. Meets with information services personnel and vendor representatives to evaluate various security software, hardware or other technologies for possible application to the data systems. Coordinates the installation of new or modified security systems, including arranging for appropriate access by company personnel and issuing instructions to data users on methods for securing access to the systems. Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures to ensure the area is in compliance with federal and state regulations and bank guidelines. Ensures section is adequately staffed, provides staff with training, evaluates staff performance, recommends salary increases, participates in employee counseling sessions, and recommends terminations. Manages the department capital and operating budget, tracks expenses and reports budget variances. Responsible for controlling operating and administrative expenses. Keeps abreast of industry trends and regulations, identifies changes affecting the department and takes appropriate action, notifies staff of internal operation changes. Secondary Duties: Supports SRO in reporting and responding to Internal Audit or Federal Reserve, FDIC, and other pertinent regulatory bodies pertaining to information security audits and related activities. Negotiates and/or evaluates contracts related to engagement of information security vendors for professional services and/or hardware/software. Conducts IT/Information Security risk assessments and takes appropriate action(s) as required. Acts as a consultant to affiliates on matters pertaining to information security. Represents the bank in civic, community and industry activities as required. Performs other related job duties and special projects as assigned. Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local banking and industry related laws and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages seven to nine employees in the Information Security department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; recommend staff promotions; recommend staff hires and/ or terminations; approve salary recommendations for staff.

Educationa and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least four o six years of related experience; Master's degree or equivalent and at least eight to ten years of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Ability to learn, or knowledge of, Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook Certificates, Licenses, Registrations No specific requirements are needed to satisfactorily perform this job but one or more of the following are preferred: CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, CCNP, CCDA, CCSA, CCSE, MCSE, GPEN, GCWN, GCFA, GSEC, GCUX
