Crescent City Schools 2024-2025 Board Certified Behavior Analyst in New Orleans, Louisiana
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst impacts students’ lives by :
Developing materials/resources and providing professional learning to administrators, educators, and instructional assistants in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and /or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with challenging behavior
Planning and overseeing the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) for individual students and collaborating in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
Creating and assisting school staff with the development of behavior plans, ABA programs, and other appropriate programs for students who present skill deficits and problem behaviors
Assisting in the management of behavior that is deemed unsafe
Working directly with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff that work with such students
Designing and implementing data collection systems and assisting in the interpretation of that data
Providing training, professional development, and coaching on effective behavior interventions and strategies
Working with classroom teachers and instructional assistants to model effective behavioral and instructional programming
Collecting data and preparing a variety of reports to document case history, assessments, and treatment
Participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement
Integrating weekly feedback and goal-setting into daily practice
Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events
Taking on other tasks as needed
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst will report to the Director of Special Education.

Have a master's degree or higher in a Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) approved field
Are BCBA Certified
Are a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA)
Have CPI training or are willing to be CPI-trained

Demonstrate past success working with students in urban settings and non-selective schools
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, crouch, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
After being trained in CPI, may be required to restrain a student
This is an in-person role
