About This Role
The software engineering manager will ensure best practices of software design, implementation, delivery and operations of multiple global digital products being developed within Carrier Digital. This role will work on a range of hardware and software products critical to Carrier’s continued business growth. As an engineering manager, you will oversee the development and execution of projects, manage stakeholders, and supervise multiple scrum teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise multiple remote Scrum teams, ensuring alignment with technical and organizational goals, while driving best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Mentor and develop team leaders, equipping them with the skills and confidence to effectively guide their teams, manage conflicts and drive technical and operational excellence.
Provide comprehensive technical leadership, including architectural reviews, code evaluations, and security assessments, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
Scale architectures for multi-tenant systems while ensuring reliability by driving performance testing initiatives and implementing automated/continuous testing frameworks.
Improve development team planning, forecasting, risk management, quality assurance and tracking to enable reliable and predictable delivery.
Implement development tracking processes and tool integrations to support program increment (PI) planning, work visualization, and deliverable predictability.
Develop and oversee sustainable platform operational processes and transform development team operations with a focus on incident management, cost control, root cause analysis, and building a culture centered on accountability.
Support audits and security accreditation efforts by implementing best practices, accurate documentation and continuous adherence to security practices.
Track and manage costs in and AWS development environment by monitoring resource utilization costs, implement cost optimization strategies and provide visibility into sp0ending through detailed reporting and analysis.
Facilitate strong stakeholder alignment and collaboration by proactively managing communications and engaging senior leaders, team members, peers and external partners.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status, risks, team performance, and other key metrics to support transparency and decision making.
You should be an engineering leader with deep technology expertise and a collaborative style that brings others into the decision-making process.
Demonstrate effective communication skills & ability to influence across all organizational levels.
Play an active role in development and deployment of global standard work
Drive agile software governance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering fields
10+ years of engineering management experience for large teams (>20 members)
10+ years of enterprise-grade software and/or product development experience
5+ years of cloud computing experience in AWS or other commercial grade cloud platforms
5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, MOMB (Monitoring, Observability, Metering and Billing)
5+ years of experience leading and coordinating solution architects within the product team
5+ years of experience working with distributed systems and cloud computing.

Great people skills, working across multiple teams, with several product managers, handles conflict
Confidence to work with solution architects, collaborate, take and giving advice
Highly organized, thinking systematically, detail-oriented and able to multi-tasking
Ability to conduct architecture reviews, cybersecurity reviews, code reviews, and provide technical feedback and guidance
Expertise and domain knowledge in developing, maintaining reusable software services and, infrastructure for promoting reuse of services/ components/ libraries.
Strong understanding of project management best practices, governance frameworks, and methodologies, with knowledge of standards such as those outlined by PMP, SAFe or similar certifications.
Experience leading technical and organizational transformative projects and initiatives
Extensive background working on IoT (Internet of Things) projects.
Strong analytical, strategic, and creative problem-solving skills.
Strong experience in driving process standardization and driving the process change across teams is essential.
Passion for driving change and experience in change management is critical for success.
