TYSON SALES & DISTRIBUTION INC Technical Services Manager, 1st Shift in NEW LONDON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Details: Our Technical Services Manager provides leadership and guidance for the execution and implementation of rapid technologies including near infrared (NIR) spectrometric, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and other technologies across multiple facilities and brands of Tyson Foods, Inc. Our Technical Services Manager would need to be flexible working onsite; our New London Plant runs primarily 5 days week; the hours are set based on the need to be available to support Plant projects with working some weekends when required. 1st Shift is primarily (Start Time) 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM (End Time), with the need to work longer hours as the projects dictate. This role does require a minor amount of travel, to date 10 or so times a year, mostly within WI, some of these are day trips. Although the Salary Rate for this role is based on experience, this role does offer 3 weeks of Vacation, Benefits (Medical, Vision, Dental), 10% Annual Incentive Plan & 2% Annual Salary Review with an overall opportunity to continue your growth with Tyson! Responsibilities: * Works cross-functionally with instrumentation manufacturers to provide new equipment modifications to meet emerging business needs, product management, and full implantation within facilities. * Manages data from multiple instruments and databases providing customized reports for both internal and external customers, using various software packages to provide real-time results and other reports; collaboration with Tyson IT to ensure network support for all equipment; coordination with labs and facilities to develop scheduling to provide samples and data for instrument updates and maintenance. * Responsible for the development of new and novel calibrations to meet customer demands. * Works collaboratively with other teams to manage research projects, as well as providing data management and evaluation, and reporting to BU leaders. * Plan work schedule and implement special projects; assist in the planning, development, method modification, validation, and evaluation of new or existing testing applications and test results; assist in statistical analysis of lab data; troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment; maintain ISO records for process control. * Must comply with quality system and safety requirements; assist in training of employees on proper usage of group instrumentation. * Managing sample workflows and data, fulfilling customer requests, and reviewing/reporting results; other duties as assigned. Requirements: * Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4-year degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Mathematics, Food Science and/or Physical Sciences with preference in chemometrics, preferred. * Experience: Minimum 5 years\' experience preferred in Food manufacturing, R&D, FSQA and Operations (plant production/food science type background strongly preferred). * Computer Skills: Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent. Knowledge of other software is applicable. * Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills. * Special Skills: Ability to perform complex data management and review, operate sophisticated laboratory equipment without close supervision, able to work independently and collaborative, and resolve routine problems.
