Looking for 12 network technicians to perform work in a data center in Sandston, VA. 1+ years of experience required within telecommunications (structured cabling, fiber, AV, alarm, physical security) OR IT (helpdesk, desktop, service desk, networking, data centers). Pay rate based on experience and certifications.

Job Description:

• Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method. Route cable through data center. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze.

• Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.

• Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.

• Terminate low-voltage devices.

• Follow blueprints.

• Un-rack of old equipment.

• Rack and stack of new equipment.

• Installing or removing circuit jumpers to support new configurations of network equipment.

• Populating switch ports with optical transceivers.

• Boxing and unboxing of network equipment.

• Trouble shooting fiber optic circuits.

• Fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).

• Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Ability to operate laptop.

• 1+ years of cabling, fiber, networking, OR IT experience

Preferences:

• Experience troubleshooting fiber optic circuits with VFL, power meter, and loop back.

• Experience with basic networking

• Experience with structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6, coax, etc.)

• Spreadsheet experience

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
