Job Description: CNC Press brake Operator
This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation for one or more CNC machines. He/she will also assist other CNC operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging. Maintain quality and safety standards, keep records and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Plan bending by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Program CNC machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Sets-up press brake by installing and adjusting punch and die.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample workpieces and adhering to company standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing bending, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, notifying Fabrication Supervisor of needed repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
QUALIFICATIONS: CNC Press Brake Operator
- One or more years' experience operating CNC Press Brakes.
- High School diploma preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Perform daily machine start ups and shut downs.
- Load and unload machines.
- Stage raw materials.
Ensure production schedule follow through
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: CNC Press Brake Operator
- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 -- 50 lbs. frequently.
- Sit, stand and walk for 1 -- 10 hours per day.
- Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision
- protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.
