Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Lead/Tool Room Manager

Job Description

This position plays an important role in maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. The role is divided between floor repairs, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and managing the tool room to ensure parts inventories are stocked. The successful candidate will possess skills in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, troubleshooting, fabrication, and light machining. Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office is also required. Responsibilities

• Assists and leads assigned activities associated with warehouse operations.

• Manages the process of receiving, stocking, and quality control of all goods and services, including cost control.

• Organizes, plans, coordinates, and manages all aspects of physical inventory and storage areas.

• Generates work orders and assists the maintenance team in signing out parts.

• Builds and manages the CMMS system for all production equipment.

• Supports corporate safety initiatives by working with the safety team.

• Identifies improvement opportunities and makes recommendations for change.

• Uses safety devices and protective equipment while employing safe work practices and methods.

• Maintains, installs, and repairs electrical/electromechanical and mechanical component systems for plant equipment.

• Reads blueprints and schematics (preferred).

• Possesses welding and fabrication experience (preferred).

• Operates motor vehicles and other mobile equipment safely.

• Plans work effectively and keeps accurate records of work performed and materials used.

• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment to reduce downtime.

• Reports or corrects any hazardous conditions.

• Works safely with maintenance and manufacturing personnel to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

• Assesses issues during breakdowns, communicates with equipment operators, and applies troubleshooting knowledge to repair equipment efficiently.

• Performs building and grounds maintenance.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Fluke/E-Maintenance or similar software (preferred)

• Training and/or experience in welding and fabricating, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical/electromechanical motor controls, automotive repair, or diesel mechanics

• Knowledge of safety rules and OSHA guidelines

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds routinely

• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons

Work Environment

Approximately 30%-40% of work is performed in an office environment with minimal noise from office equipment. The remaining 60%-70% requires being on the production floor with exposure to noise, dirt/dust, and varying temperatures. The role involves operating various types of office equipment and heavy machinery, enduring outdoor and indoor conditions. Physical demands include walking, climbing stairs and ladders, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00
