Robert Half Paralegal in New Haven, Connecticut

Description Our client, that specializes in real estate law, personal injury, and litigation is looking for a litigation paralegal experienced in Civil Litigation to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in civil litigation, demonstrating a strong understanding of legal procedures, document management, and client interaction.

This role offers an opportunity to work closely with attorneys in a close knit and supportive environment, contributing to complex cases and ensuring efficient case management from inception to resolution.

Responsibilities:

Conducting legal research and analysis, utilizing various databases and resources

Drafting legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.

Managing and organizing case files and documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and courtroom logistics.

Coordinating and scheduling depositions, hearings, and client meetings.

Communicating effectively with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.

Reviewing and summarizing deposition transcripts, medical records, and other discovery materials.

Maintaining case calendars, deadlines, and scheduling of court appearances

Assisting with electronic filing in state and federal courts.

Requirements:

4-10 years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation

Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation practices

Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software. Requirements

Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation practices

Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
