Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment, including mixers, conveyors, compressor systems, mills, shakers, packaging systems, pumps, rollup doors, and other miscellaneous repairs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressor systems, mills, shakers, packaging systems, pumps, and rollup doors.

  • Perform miscellaneous repairs as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and repair them safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Read and interpret equipment instruction manuals, manufacturing processes, and procedures.

  • Work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.

  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with multiple rapidly changing priorities.

  • Handle amino acids, vitamins, and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form as well as allergen products.

  • Exercise independent judgment by identifying complex problems, reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options, and implementing solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment maintaining equipment and performing repairs.

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and repair them safely and efficiently.

  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment instruction manuals, manufacturing processes, and procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with multiple rapidly changing priorities.

  • Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins, and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form as well as allergen products.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment by identifying complex problems, reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Associate Degree or courses in a mechanical and/or technical discipline preferred.

Work Environment

Manufacturing Casual - Steel Toe shoes required. Appropriate dress code depending on the area of the floor, such as clean room jumpsuits or lab coats. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CARLSBAD, California.
