Description
Leading manufacturer, located in the Southern New Jersey are seeks a Staff Accountant with strong audit and regulatory compliance experience. The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as: assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, assisting with monthly account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, assisting with bank reconciliations, and participating in the development and tracking of budgets. The ideal candidate for this role should have a great analytical mindset, be highly organized, and have excellent time-management and strong budgeting/forecasting abilities that will ensure revenue generation.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update financial records consistently, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses on a monthly basis to aid management decision-making.
Conduct the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of audits and regulatory compliance documents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate project accounting and inventory management.
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes by providing insights into financial performance.
Use Sightline for financial reporting and data analysis.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
Provide training and support to team members as needed, particularly in relation to Sightline use.
Requirements
The ideal Staff Accountant is required to have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:
2+ years accounting experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Proficient in accounting software/ERP systems
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Excellent organizational skills
