Work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide cross-functional leadership to department leaders which includes direct reports as well as leaders in the tactical areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Materials. Leadership focus will be on leading the third tier of Crown’s four tier accountability system. Define and implement standard leader work objectives for all leaders within the manufacturing departmental areas and focus strict adherence to follow it. Perform daily/weekly “Gemba” walks with managers and operational leaders to create and establish well-disciplined procedures that drive continuous improvement. Adhere and reinforce the culture of “Safety First” in all aspects of manufacturing operations. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Materials Manager, Facilities Manager and Safety Manager to incorporate company goals into daily operations. Develop plans to support the Continuous Improvement process. Plans include goals, resource requirements, and capital requirements. Improvement activity should be directed at Safety, Quality, Process Cost Reduction, and Manufacturing Expense Reduction. Create communication boards to provide immediate visual overview of the manufacturing performance measures. Communicate plans and progress regularly with Plant Manager.
Manage the activities of Production Departments including Fabrication, Assembly, and Machining. Communicate objectives and take action to ensure performance goals are being met. Performance goals include meeting safety, quality, productivity, schedule, expense, overtime, and housekeeping goals. Determine employee staffing requirements to meet production schedules. Set and maintain inventory levels on manufactured components. Administer engineering changes and special processes. Monitor plant capacities and communicate requirements to Plant Manager. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities Maintenance to support safety, quality, and productivity objectives. Prepare annual budget for process cost. Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop expense and capital budgets. Perform other duties as assigned.
Manage human resource administration including hiring, placing, transferring, promoting, disciplining, training, and discharging of personnel. Oversee the approval process for weekly employee payroll hours, and paperwork for employee vacation, personal leave, accident reports, and return to work forms. Work closely with Plant Manager and Human Resource Manager to develop policy and programs in support of good employee relations. Ensure all employees are properly trained and seek new ways to motivate employees to be successful at meeting all Company expectations.
Perform duties such as creating and revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing, and tracking goals, and completing annual wage reviews. Responsible for coaching, motivating, and developing direct reports to successfully take on additional responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or if no degree, high school diploma and 12+ years of related experience required.
Strong interpersonal communication skills with emphasis on listening and speaking.
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, set clear goals and build strong relationships.
Able to multitask, meet deadlines and good presentation skills.
Per 10-hour shift, s it 6 hours and stand 4 hours. Both typical and non-typical office environment (low to moderate noise level, low exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations). Lift up to 10 pounds. Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard. Infrequent lifting, walking, and climbing stairs. Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).
