International Entry-Level Vehicle Performance Validation Engineer in New Carlisle, Indiana

Join Us as a Vehicle Performance Validation Engineer!

International Motors LLC is looking for a full time employee to join the Vehicle Performance Validation team. The group performs a wide variety of engineering validation tests to document a vehicle’s performance as related to; fuel/energy economy, powertrain performance, calibration regressions, aerodynamic coastdowns and a wide varitey of fuel system level testing for commercial trucks and/or busses.

Responsibilities

  • Create work orders to prepare vehicles before tests and to remove test instrumentations post activity.

  • Execute testing to confirm that system or vehicle level requirements are met, and reports results. Testing will be conducted at International test facilities, as well as Supplier/3rd party test facilities or on public highways.

  • Troubleshoot vehicle and equipment issues (by referencing diagnostic manuals when available)

  • Create new procedures to improve efifciany and/or update existing procedures based on lesssons learned from experience.

  • Operates data acquisition equipment to obtain in-lab and over the road data.

  • Organizes and reviews data for quality and completeness.

  • Participates in root cause analysis and troubleshoots issues with data and/or test articles.

  • Communicates test results to vehicle program teams relative to target performance objectives.

  • Writes technical reports that document vehicle system performance.

  • Coordinate with validation team members and other groups within organization to complete projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

OR

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.   • Understanding of International’s Product Center and Product Management organizations

  • Basic Understanding of truck applications and associated product requirements

  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills

  • Familiar with test equipment (thermocouples, transducers, frequency sensors, etc.), multimeters, etc.

  • Familiar with data aqusition systems (ETAS, Canalyzer, National Instruments, Somat, or equivalent)

  • Familiar with shop tools (hand tools, pnuematic tools, pallet jacks, etc.)

  • High level of computer literacy – Office suite, computer networking knowledge, and processing software.
