Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Stage Crew Workers in Theater Department Production Shops including Scene, Costume, Sound, Lighting, and/or Properties for The Theater Department of Mason Gross School of the Arts.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Carpentry, theatrical electrics, costume drapers/stitchers, backstage crew, or front of house staff during rehearsal and performance.
  • Build and load in scenery.
  • Hang and focus lights.
  • Run deck operations, sound and lighting equipment, or front of house during rehearsals and performances.

This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.

Position Salary $15-30 per hour

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional experience as a stage carpenter, stage electrician, stage manager, house manager or equivalent professional experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Hours vary from sporadic to the potential to exceed 20 hours a week on rare occasions.
