Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Part-Time, Hourly Research Assistant , for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research. The primary purpose of this position is to support and perform research involving structured interviewing and other forms of data collection with community member.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manages logisitics for ongoing studies
  • Recruits and enrolls including in-person, virtual, and over the phone
  • Data inputs, management, and preparation
  • Reviews data for integrity and adherence to study protocols
  • Community outreach via in-person events, telephone solicitation, or the development of or contribution to presentations, handouts, and marketing material
  • Assists with study management and coordination
  • Special projects as assigned based on demonstrated knowledge and job skills

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Must have a driver's license and private, reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or advanced degree with a minimum of two years working in social/behavioral or clinical research in Academia or the private sector. Working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, and database and analytical software for data analyses, such as STATA, SAS, R, mplus, and HLM.
  • Fluent (read/write/speak) in Hindi, Gujarati, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole or Tagalog. Experience working with Indian, Filipino, Dominican, Mexican, Nigerian, Haitian, Chinese, Jamaican or Korean communities.
  • Southern New Jersey and Northwestern New Jersey preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience and familiarity with research.
  • Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must have effective client service skills
Equipment Utilized
  • Microsoft Office Equipment and database software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • May require travel to research participant homes or other meeting location to conduct research activities.
  • It is required o work evenings and weekends.
