Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

A Ph.D. degree in biology, or a health-related discipline (preferably with a strong microbiology or immunology component).

Laboratory experience related to research area and knowledge of molecular biology techniques is essential.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Laboratory experience in a research position, including molecular biology experience.

General computer skills, and experience with Oxford Nanopore instrumentation are essential.

Willingness to do a variety of tasks from menial to highly specialized.

Equipment Utilized

Candidate will need to sequence using the ONT MinION and be familiar with table top ultracentrifuges.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Manual dexterity, experience and care in analytical procedures, a strong sense of methodology and precision, ability to perform detailed work and monitor multiple concurrent events or tasks.

Knowledge of modern laboratory techniques in molecular biology.
