Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time CLAC Program Coordinator for the SA-Center for Latino Arts & Culture.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Supports the CLAC staff with the preparation, coordination, and administrative support of CLAC programming, including leadership, cultural engagement, wellness, and service programs.
  • Assists with CLAC Lideres Conference and other leader engagement programs, including preparation, compilation and distribution of materials and event support.
  • Assists with cultural engagement events and programs such as CLAC Welcome to La Familia and others, including event production, promotion and logistics.
  • Assists with event calendar submission processing, scheduling and promotion for Latine Heritage Month events and programs.
  • Utilizes technology to streamline event and program promotion. This includes responsibility for data management to extract and post program-specific information on online content management applications for CLAC website and Get Involved.
  • Sets-up and breaks down on-and-offsite rooms and equipment and provide support to CLAC staff and student leaders, including management of audiovisual equipment. * Assist with distribution and collection of event and program evaluations, data entry, filing, and report distribution.
  • Works with program managers and other CLAC team members to create consistency in workflow and program support by maintaining detailed program notes.
  • Develops and maintains cohesive relationships with all parties involved with execution of programs; including, but not limited to CLAC staff, student leaders and facility users; university departments and outside vendors.
  • Pursues development opportunities that lead to greater efficiency in delivering programs by incorporating the latest tools, techniques and methods.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in an administrative function.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of related experience.

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Must have a highly developed sense of customer service.
  • Must have strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must have strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google suite.
  • Must have excellent planning and organizational skills, and attention to deadlines.
  • Must have a strong commitment to maintaining consistency and quality of program materials.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, highly demanding work environment.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and positive attitude when dealing with diverse groups, such as managers, team members, faculty, students, clients from diverse backgrounds, departments within Rutgers University, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
  • Must work independently with minimal direction to adhere to strict deadlines.
