The Job:
As a Internal Communications Specialist, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor (T&O) team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to:
Support Strategic Communications: Assist in the development and execution of strategic communications plans, identifying key deliverables that align with the Tools & Outdoor (T&O) business objectives and broader Stanley Black & Decker communications strategies. Manage a strong cadence of internal communication activities.
Communications Partnership: Serve as a communications partner for the T&O team, driving alignment and engagement around financial commitments and long-term strategic objectives.
Content Creation: Write talking points and develop compelling content for key initiatives (e.g., omnichannel customer experience, direct-to-consumer strategies, digital transformation) while incorporating creative ideas for design and delivery.
Enhance Employer Brand Internally: Support internal communications efforts to enhance the company’s image among employees, increasing engagement, generating pride, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Use Diverse Communication Channels and Mediums: Develop effective communications using various mediums, channels and technologies, including video, internal/external social media, and more.
Leverage Internal Platforms: Utilize internal platforms to enhance collaboration within the T&O team globally.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the business, including partnerships with third parties and external groups, to advance the goals of the Tools & Outdoor business.

The Person:

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, with demonstrated experience leveraging communication tools to support strategic initiatives.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Writing and Storytelling: Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various platforms, including PowerPoint.
Project Management: Proven project management capabilities, with the ability to execute tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
Change Management Understanding: Familiarity with change management principles within a corporate environment.
Digital Media Savvy: Knowledge of current trends in digital and social media, with the ability to analyze and act on data.
Self-Directed: A self-starter with a positive and professional approach to work.
