Credit Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit analyst to join our team. You will work closely with the Credit Manager and the sales team to process credit applications, manage accounts receivable, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. This role is based in Newington, CT, and offers a flexible first shift schedule from Monday to Friday. The position is initially a 3-month contract with the potential to become permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Process all incoming credit applications in a timely manner and communicate updates to the Credit Manager and Sales Team.

  • Respond to all incoming credit reference requests and maintain accurate records.

  • Reconcile and post daily AR adjustments, cash, check, credit card, and EFT/ACH deposits to AR accounts.

  • Contact customers regarding payment on past due accounts and maintain accurate notes in the collection manager.

  • Analyze customer short pays/overages and submit to the billing department for credit/rebill processing.

  • Contact customers to retrieve appropriate tax certificates when needed.

  • Scan credit files, tax certificates, and customer tickets to OnBase and manage OnBase error queues.

  • Answer all incoming phone calls professionally.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX guidelines for all tasks.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with accounts receivable (A/R) or accounts payable (A/P), handling 10-50 monthly A/R invoices.

  • Knowledge of GAAP.

  • Proficiency in data entry and intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as reports and contracts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Effective negotiation skills while maintaining customer relationships.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn CT State Sales Tax laws.

  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Outlook and Word.

  • Familiarity with accounting or business-specific software.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office setting with a strong company culture and a team-oriented environment. You will need to be willing to travel and work away from home when required, as well as work nights and weekends if necessary. Strict adherence to safety requirements and company policies is essential. The dress code is professional.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
