Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a team in the service industry, located in New Brighton, Minnesota. The role is integral to operations, requiring a deep understanding of payroll processes and systems, including the Ceridian platform. The Payroll Specialist will be actively involved in supporting multiple companies and handling complex payroll tasks. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in the transition to the Ceridian platform for payroll, ensuring smooth operations and minimal disruptions

• Handle payroll administrative duties for various companies, supporting the corporate level

• Assist in integrating new acquisitions into the payroll system, ensuring accurate and efficient setup of new hires

• Understand and manage the complexities of payroll, including local taxes and union payrolls

• Oversee all aspects of payroll tax filing, reporting, and reconciliation

• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes efficiently

• Manage various liability accounts, positive pay files, and child support payments.

Requirements • Proficient with Ceridian payroll software.

• Experience in full cycle payroll processing.

• Knowledge and experience in handling multi-state payroll.

• Strong understanding and expertise of payroll systems and processes.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

• Proven experience in a similar role as a Payroll Specialist.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage confidential information with utmost discretion.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding payroll, taxes, and benefits.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
