Tire Press Operator - 3rd Shift

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, adjust, and operate tire press to press tires and hubs together according to standard work instructions.

• Inspect parts to print and standard work specifications.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas (5S).

• Comply with all applicable occupational Environmental, Health, and Safety standards, as well as Crown’s safety rules and regulations for each task performed. To prevent the risk of injury, report unsafe conditions and do not perform unsafe acts.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Per 8 hr. shift (stand 5 hrs., walk 3 hrs., may have to stand up to 8 hrs.), frequently (bend), occasionally (climb stairs, work above chest level, work with arms outstretched), infrequently (reach below knee level). Frequently lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 50 lbs., may have to continuously lift from 0 to 50 lbs.). Must be able to hear, see, distinguish colors. Must be able to do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a noisy environment that includes exposure to dust, shavings, grease, and oil. Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic. Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach. Infrequently perform light paint work.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Read routings, know basic math (including fractions and decimals), basic computer skills, read, remember, observe and problem solve. Must be able to multi-task. Perform same basic tasks every day and follow well established procedures. Work according to daily standard instructions. May require a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Allen wrenches, wrenches, hammer, mallet, jig saw, pliers, gloves, assembly fixtures, hand-held air tools, overhead hoist, ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses. May be required to operate a lift truck.
