About this opportunity:

Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

Key responsibilities:

  • Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Maintains contact with staff throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff with documentation of the hours worked.
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
  • Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs.
  • Develops the driver routes for the pick and delivery of kettles and kettle workers; ensures all kettle workers are dropped off and picked up at the kettle location to which they are assigned according to the schedule.
  • Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
  • Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds
  • Assists with picking up Angel Tree gifts and delivering to distrubution center

What we are looking for in you:

  • High School or G.E.D; AND
  • One year experience working with kettle fund-raising programs preferred; OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid State Drivers License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions. Dressing appropriately is important for remaining safe and comfortable.
