The ideal candidate will be experienced in hands-on and review of all GAAP Accounting activities, Accounting Operations and Controls within a Financial Institution environment, along with an advanced proficiency in Excel and a strong knowledge of regulatory compliance. Title: Interim Accounting Manager

Position Comments: Hybrid position, with 3 Days Onsite and 2 Days Remote. This is a Contract Consulting position.

Location: Greater Milwaukee area

Desired Start Date: Immediately

Duration: 2-3 months with possibility of extension

Pay Rate: Flexible depending on experience

The Key Responsibilities of this role include:

This Accounting Manager will report directly to the VP of Accounting and assist the Controller and the Assistant Controller with the following:

  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure adherence to established controls and monthly close timelines.

  • Manage and mentor the Staff Accountants, creating a collaborative team environment.

  • Prepare, review and or approve monthly journal entries.

  • Prepare complex account reconciliations by analyzing the source of transactions and effect on accounting systems; and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.

  • Develop transaction and system reports to provide detail for reconciliation daily work and preparation.

  • Review and approve account reconciliations and subsidiary controls prepared by staff and assist with the training and improvement of account reconciliation process.

  • Manage investor reporting including accuracy of reporting, meeting deadlines, balancing of investor activity and completion of external audits.

  • Assists timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Our client is looking for someone with Accounting Manager Level Experience that covers all of the above. This is a hands-on and review role, with 7-8 staff that you will lead and oversee. This individual must be able to come in and hit the ground running! At this point, the role is interim only and expected to run for at least 2-3 months while they search for someone to hire for this position. They are in need of someone to start immediately. Work is Hybrid (3 days onsite; 2 days virtual) Requirements (MUST HAVES):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years managing people

  • Strong Financial Institution Background Required

  • Hands-On Accounting Manager Level Experience

  • Strong Month-End Close experience within a Financial Institution environment Required

  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel
