Description: The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is the state agency responsible for conserving the state's natural resources. DFG exercises responsibility over the Commonwealth's marine and freshwater fisheries, wildlife, plants, and natural communities, and provides outdoor recreation opportunities to the public. The Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) serves Massachusetts’ citizens by protecting, restoring, and enhancing fishery resources and their habitats while providing sustainable fisheries-related recreational and commercial opportunities. Job Opening:The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Marine Fisheries seeks applicants for a Sportfish Restoration Grant Administrative Assistant Contactor to perform the following duties: DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide up-to-date information about the status of project funds to ensure the satisfactory completion of project segments through proper funding and/or extensions of project periods. * Assisted in the preparation of grant-related correspondence and documents. * Assist with procurement of new Inventory Database. * Update and maintain the Inventory database. Conduct annual inventory reviews by state requirements. * Assist with editing and compiling notices, letters, and other correspondence. * Assist with re-organizing the archived Sportfish Restoration Program documentation. * Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE: * Ability to give oral and written instructions in a precise and understandable manner, to write concisely, express thoughts clearly, and develop ideas logically. * Ability to work independently, adapt to varying work situations, and deal tactfully and establish rapport with others, including employees, supervisors, and the public. * Ability to write and edit memos. * Knowledge of the computer-based software (Microsoft Office) used to create charts, graphs, and tables. * Ability to maintain accurate records and assemble information items according to established procedures.
