Manufacturing Production Supervisor

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 / year

Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Oversee management of all Manufacturing areas to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.

REPORTS TO: Head of Manufacturing

SUBORDINATES: Manufacturing sections involving skilled machine operators, assembly, test or similar activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.

  • Develop, train, position and nurture a world-class team that meets the product quality, delivery, and cost goals necessary to optimize customer satisfaction (delivery) and company profit.

  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and standards that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

  • Oversee the production process and manage production schedule. Ensure Key Performance indicators of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded. Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for production operations.

  • Maintain compliance of company policies, safety standards, quality specifications, regulatory requirements, and sanitation practices.

  • Drive continuous improvement using a Lean Six Sigma culture throughout the operations. Lead the effort to eliminate waste and reduce cycle time and cost in half.

  • Work effectively to relate well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in working with others, while maintaining positive and professional working relationships.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent leadership, communication interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Must demonstrate proven ability to implement complex processes.

  • Knowledge of current procurement, inventory management strategies, quality and manufacturing practices are required.

  • Microsoft Excel skills required.

  • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processing, and principles (MS project, AS400, ISO, Lean Six Sigma) is preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry. A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $65,000 to $75,000 per year.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining us, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
