Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Project Accountant will perform various Accounting activities for the Project. The position is located at the project site in New Albany, OH. The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong ethical behavior in workplace practices, a customer-service orientation with a demonstrated professional demeanor and communication style, flexibility, and commitment to meeting deadlines. #LI-AM3

Major Responsibilities:

Administration and Audit of Project compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act:

  • Coordination with Subcontracts, Labor Relations, Craft Payroll/Timekeeping and Legal Organizations to ensure accuracy and timely submission of certified payroll reporting for the project.

  • Coordination with subcontractors and their sub-tiers related to certified payroll reporting.

  • Periodic audit of subcontractors certified payroll.

  • Maintenance/archival of audit and certified payroll records.

Other Accounting Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting support: Account analysis/reconciliation, transaction review, etc.

  • Client Billing Support: Transaction support review.

  • Accounts Payable Support: Review, approval routing and coordination for processing of AP invoices.

Additional duties may be assigned on an as required basis.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Accounting degree and 1-2 year of experience or 5-6 years of experience in accounting/auditing roles

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience with Davis-Bacon Act compliance preferred.

  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Understanding of accounting principles, concepts and terminology.

  • Good initiative and ability to work independently while functioning effectively in a team environment.

  • Sound business judgment in execution of assigned work and in understanding when issues need to be escalated for resolution.

  • Experience with Oracle Financials a plus.
