Formula Data Integrity Specialist I

The FDI Specialist I supports specific functions on the Formula Data Integrity team. Lead activities pertaining to new development or change processes related to formulas and raw materials for all personal care products, OTC drug products and candles/home fragrance products. Specific areas of support include, but are not limited to, new development (Commercialized products, pre-development assessments, etc.), regular business organizational change (Dual Sourcing, Alternate Raw Material process, etc.), or technical organizational change (regulation changes, international requirements, IFRA, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Review, validate and approve all formulas entered into formula system for accuracy and completeness.

  • Create and route all new raw materials for cross functional review related to new development or alternate raw material processes.

  • Conduct initial review for compliance for all raw materials and formulas.

  • Ensure all documentation meets or exceeds current requirements and is maintained within the formula system.

  • Work with cross functional partners to ensure new development or change milestones are met OT&C (On-Time & Complete).

  • Hold cross functional partners accountable for results and timelines associated with projects.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross functional partners, Contract Manufacturers and Raw Material Vendors to continuously improve processes and turnaround times.

  • Support life cycle management activities related to data within the formula system. Including but not limited to, raw material and formula validation processes, end of life management for formulas, finished goods, etc.

  • Conduct regular reviews of current processes and requirements to ensure they are meeting the needs of the business and cross functional partners looking for efficiencies and changes when/where vital.

  • Drive resolution for any reformulations needed due to raw material or formula non-compliance.

  • Ensure all processes in and out of the formula system are followed by internal and external partners.

  • Assist Specialist II, Senior Specialist, and leadership in any other areas needed.

Key Meetings

  • Attend weekly catch up with Manager/Supervisor

  • Attend monthly catch up with team members, cross-functional partners, and/or leaders

  • Attend weekly CSG and Raw Material meetings

  • Attend bi-weekly Dual Source and ERMA meetings

  • Attend monthly team meetings

  • Attend key business meetings such as Quarterly Briefings

  • Attend any additional meetings as vital

  • Actively participate in other relevant meetings as advised

Talent Management and Development

  • Create and implement IDP/PPO/Mid-Year/Performance Review/Career Management Profile.

  • Complete on-boarding activities and participate in informal mentorship if needed.

  • Support AOS effort by actively participating in AOS related activities and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Learn new knowledge and processes and constantly improve professional skills for future growth.

  • Actively seek opportunities to use existing processes and collaborate between teams.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external partners (e.g. R&D, Operations, Commercialization, Regulatory, PFD, MFE, Safety, Contract Manufacturers, Raw Material Vendors, and Fragrances Houses).

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience in consumer goods industry

  • Experience in raw material or formulation development for Personal Care is a plus

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple contending and constantly evolving priorities

  • Experience in SAP is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or equivalent experience
