Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full time: 8-hour overnight shifts beginning at 9pm, Sunday – Friday

  • Provide comprehensive care to a select population of patients in the specialty

  • Perform age appropriate physical assessments, evaluation and treatment for primary care patient base seeking services from the organization

  • Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical in order to establish a diagnosis; performs tests and procedures as directed by diagnosis

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department

  • Ability to work with acutely ill patients and families doing medical histories and medical reconciliations

  • Ability to work with physicians, advanced practice providers and nursing staff to assist with admissions through the emergency department

  • Order lab studies when indicated

  • Establish age appropriate plan of care related to patient’s identified problem, including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc.

  • Consults with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider program

  • Unrestricted licensure in the state of Indiana or has Indiana application in process

  • Active and unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain prior to start

  • Maintains BLS certification, professional certification as appropriate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as an APC

  • Clinical experience in a hospital or ER setting

  • Experience working as a hospitalist

  • Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices

  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations

  • Proven excellent communication skills

  • Proven team spirit with a positive attitude

  • Proven willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience

  • Proficient computer skills including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records
