APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $56,689.20 to $83,666.16 PAY GRADE: 32

The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position

Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.

Under direction, Personnel Analyst I's perform entry level professional personnel work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in Human Resource Management or a State agency.

This recruitment is for a Human Resource (HR) Analyst 1 position within the Agency HR Services section (AHRS) of the Division of Human Resource Management. AHRS provides HR services for approximately 3,000 full-time employees across a variety of State agencies. This position will be responsible for receiving and processing employee relations matters ranging from coaching and instruction to discipline and separation, providing guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding the progressive disciplinary process. Excellent communication, reading, and writing skills are required, as this position will formulate Letters of Instruction, Oral Warnings, Written Reprimands, and conduct internal administrative investigations necessitating interviews as required. Additionally, the incumbent will create job recruitments, initiate employee actions, assist with grievances/complaints, and serve as a backup for all other HR matters within AHRS. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
