The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

The Nevada State Controller's Office is recruiting for a Management Analyst 3 in Carson City, Nevada. The incumbent is an integral part of our Fiscal Operations Team and will conduct monthly bank reconciliations, quarterly IRS 941 reporting, garnishment processing, and assist with the Single Audit and CMIA processes. Other duties include review and approval of JVDs, PVs, cancels, reissues, wires, and supervision. The Management Analyst 3 supervises one Accounting Assistant 4 directly and three Accounting Assistant 3's indirectly. The incumbent is essential in making recommendations regarding internal controls and ensures that fiscal policies and procedures are followed. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The incumbent may perform other related duties as required to meet ongoing needs. Overtime may be required during Single Audit and CMIA reporting periods and periodically based on agency need. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Requirements

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.

Additional Position Criteria

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
